Here are the school supply lists for the coming school year. Target and Walmart already have some great deals on crayons and markers.

We're about halfway through summer and the PTO is already looking to next school year, but we need help. We have numerous vacant positions that need to be filled in order to have a successful year. We have no president, vice president, volunteer coordinator, fundraising coordinator, yearbook chairperson, and popcorn chairperson. While these positions are vacant, we still have those who are willing to train their predecessor for the position. We will gladly answer questions and help as much as possible for you (and our PTO) to be successful.
Maybe you're worried about stepping forward. I started volunteering with the PTO almost 6 years ago when my oldest daughter started kindergarten. We had recently moved to Springfield and I did not know anyone. I felt that volunteering with PTO would help me meet people while also benefiting students. I started working on the yearbook because I had prior experience and felt it was something I could do with 3 year old twins at home. I also volunteered on popcorn Fridays because the twins could accompany me. I did meet fellow parents and the wonderful staff at Ridgeview. I was really enjoying helping and it gave me something to do. Being a stay at home parent can be isolating at times. The following year I became PTO President and remained there until last year, when I became treasurer. I've enjoyed every position I've held in PTO. I've made wonderful friends and learned more than I ever thought I could. I now know how a non-profit works, how to solicit donations from businesses and individuals, how to organize events and write grants. Now that my children are getting older, we need someone else to take the reins. If you're interested, we'd love to hear from you. Regent and I will gladly assist you or answer any questions you might have. Thanks, Crystal |
