Where does the money go?
Busing & Field Trips
Numerous scientific studies report the educational value of field trips. From going to a pumpkin patch to see how food grows, attending the the living history program at Dorris Ranch, , the logging conference, the Oregon Zoo, to local water treatment plants, to local museums, and more, These field trips give students a new experience while increasing their critical thinking and their sustained interest in the world around them. Not to mention, field trips are FUN!

Classroom Enhancement
One of our goals as a PTO is to supplement educational supplies that the district does not pay for. We supply Scholastic News subscriptions for K-2nd. Scholastic News is a great publication that follows closely with the common core curriculum, and best of all, the students really enjoy it! 3rd-5th Grade benefit from Scholastic TrueFlix.
We also pay for a school site license for Reflex Math. Reflex Math creates fact fluency in addition, subtraction, ,multiplication and division through repetition and fun games. |
Family Oriented Events
Each year we organize fun family events like Fall Festival, Movie Night and Chili Feed, S.T.E.M. Night, BINGO and Field Day. These are a great way to bring families together and welcome them into our school.

Positive ReinforcementThe PTO buys small prizes and runs the Wow table every week. WOWs are tickets students earn when they are "caught" being good. Each week the tickets are entered into a drawing and 2 students from each class are chosen. These students then exchange their Wow ticket for a small prize.

Teacher AppreciationThe first full week in May is the official Teacher Appreciation week. While we appreciate our teachers year round, we spend that week showering them with thank yous. We leave small gifts in their mailboxes and feed them breakfast, lunch and snacks throughout the week.
